Mr H appeared at Oxford Magistrates Court facing a six-month ban for totting up. he already had 9 points on his licence and a new speeding charge meant he was looking at ending up with 12 points.
The possibility of an exceptional hardship argument was discussed with Mr H, however, he was realistic in his chances and opted for a different strategy. In short, the court was persuaded to disqualify Mr H for the speeding offence alone and not for totting up. Rather than facing a six-month ban, Mr H was disqualified for 25 days.
Location: Oxford Magistrates Court
Outcome: Potential ban reduced from six months to 25 days
